The origins of all Golden Eagle Holistic Health® petfoods go back to Joseph “Joe” Cocquyt. Joe was a true pioneer and force in developing healthy and nutritious petfoods, like Eagle Pack in the USA.

Joe’s dissatisfaction with all the unhealthy ingredients in the pet foods on the market, caused him to consult with veterinary nutrition experts to determine the best sources for pet food ingredients, work closely with equipment manufacturers to make it possible to also properly cook these ingredients and then to find out how all these could be blended together. Then working with veterinarians, breeders and nutritionists – Joe Cocquyt insisted in filling one simple question: "How do you make the healthiest pet food in the world?"

What was found will not surprise you. Our pets are healthiest when they eat whole foods. Like Hippocrates, the founder of modern medicine said “We are what we eat”.

These are the basis for Golden Eagle Holistic Health® pet foods and we are forever greatfull to Joe, who passed away last year. We would not be where we are today without Joe's never ending guidance, support and advice. Joe's experience and vast knowledge was something unique, especially the way he was always so ready to help and so open to share his toughts and guidance, a man of great statute and he will be greatly missed by all of us here, human and pet alike, and we have dedicated this new breed of petfoods to his memory.

Only carefully selected human grade ingredients. Fresh meats, whole grain rice, barley and oats, fresh fruits and vegetables, added with healthy oils and fats, rich with Omegas, like DHA and EPA. These are of paramount importance required for healthy organ development and function, specially the brains, eyes and cardioheatlh. The sources more specificly are flaxseed and high quality salmon oils.

Based on information from all this background and research, Golden Eagle Holistic Health®’s Nutritional Philosophy was developed. Our formulations are based on the latest scientific nutritional and genetic information, to create feeds which are nutritionally sound to serve and protect the pet from all possible influences, be it environmental or genetic. 1. Use Only High-Quality Dog and Cat Food Ingredients

It is important to understand that the pet food industry is the primary outlet for human by-products. There are ingredients which are allowed to be used in pet foods that are, at best, scary. Golden Eagle Holistic Health® uses only high-quality human grade, all natural and holistic ingredients to create foods that are denser and richer in all essential nutrients. This means pets get more nutrition from less food, with calories and fats in each formula balanced to fit their specific needs.

2. Use Natural, Whole Grain Ingredients That Are Nutrient–Rich and Unaltered, no GMO

Mother Nature made the grain in its whole state. As such, it includes nutritious protein, fats, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Other pet food companies use fractionated grains, which are not included in any of Golden Eagle Holistic Health® formulas.

4. No Artificial Preservatives, Synthetic Chemicals, Colors or Additives

Golden Eagle Holistic Health®  will not add anything to the food unless it is nutritious and healthful for a cat or a dog. All our foods are free from chemical additives of any kind, including preservatives such as ethoxyquin and BHA/BHT, which are frequently found in pet foods, but are banned from human use in many countries. The EU regulations allow manufacturers to hide this information behind “Eu-approved” numbers, making it more difficult for the consumer to realise they might be feeding their pets with potentially harmfull chemicals.

5. Special Attention For The Nutritional Profile for Skin and Coat.

Getting a good skin and coat is no big secret. It's just very expensive to do. You have to use more meat, higher quality sources of fats and oils, and high levels of vitamins and other nutrients. Golden Eagle Holistic Health® has a large investment in quality - we've made the commitment. None of our products are tested by cruel laboratory animal tests. Our testing is done with our own pets, the pets of our friends, relatives, trusted breeders. We make sure all our meat sources have led a good life, free ranged and slauhtered without any cruelty or abuse to animal rights. All our manufacturing processes take into consideration environmental factors, so from empty bags to plastic wrappers are recycled. Water is purified before being allowed into a pond, where waterlife thrives, before being released to into the nearby river Douglas. We make sure our food is free of antiobiotics, herbicides, pesticides or any chemicals, which can be potentially harmfull for our or your pet.
